The Community building can be rented by both residents and non-residents of San Dimas. In addition to the $300 security/cleaning deposit, you pay for each hour of use of the building, as follows:
For residents of San Dimas: $200 for the first hour and $50 for each additional hour of use, including any preparation time and clean-up time that is needed. For non-residents: $300 for the first hour and $60 for each additional hour of use, including any preparation time and clean-up time that is needed.
In addition, liability insurance to meet the standards of the City of San Dimas is required. The cost of special event liability insurance for most events is approximately $117, if no alcohol is served. If alcohol is served, an additional premium is required and varies in cost depending on the type of event. Payment may be made by cash, check or Visa/MasterCard.
Reservation for the Community Building may be made from 7 - 180 days prior to the date of requested use for residents, and 7 - 120 days for non-residents. Reservations must be made in person at the Recreation Desk at San Dimas City Hall. In addition to your deposit, a valid California Driver’s License and proof of residency, if appropriate, is required. A utility bill dated within the last 30 days showing your name and address in San Dimas is required as proof of residency.
The Community Building accommodates up to 250 people banquet-style or up to 300 people theatre-style. You may rent the Community Building for use during the hours of 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 a.m. Please note that you pay for each hour of use, including any decorating time and cleanup time. All activities, including clean-up, must cease at 1:00 a.m.
The Community Building has a kitchen, which is included in the price of your rental. You will need to bring in all utensils and equipment necessary for your party. The Community Building can be set up for up to 160 people with 60” round tables or for up to 250 people with 3’ x 8’ oblong tables and molded plastic and steel chairs. You will need to bring table linens.
