Electronic and Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off
Do you have an old computer, TV, paint or household cleaners you need to dispose of? San Dimas residents can recycle these, and other, items at one of the upcoming Household Hazardous Waste and E-Waste Collection Events.
These free, drive-through collection events are held throughout the year at several local locations. For a list of dates and locations, as well as more information on what you can drop off, please call 1-888-CLEAN-LA, or visit the CLEANLA website.
No appointment is necessary. Bring I.D. Only e-waste and household hazardous waste will be accepted. It is illegal and harmful to the environment to dispose of these items in your trash.
Wondering what to do with your used motor oil? Recycle it! With funds from the California Integrated Waste Management Board, the City of San Dimas has implemented a curbside used motor oil collection and recycling program for single-family residential areas.
On Trash Day, residents may place their used oil at the curbside in a tightly sealed container for the trash collectors to pick up. For best results, it is also a good idea to contact Waste Management at (909) 599-1274 a minimum of 24 hours in advance to schedule a pick-up. If you do not have a sealable container, you may pick one up free of charge from City Hall, available in 6-quart and 15-quart capacities.
For those who would prefer to take their oil and oil filters to a collection center, Scher Goodyear at 100 W. Bonita (at San Dimas Avenue) will accept your Used Motor oil and filters. They also will give you a free drainer container. There are also several other local sites from which to choose. For a list of centers currently accepting used oil and/or used oil filters, visit the Clean LA website to find the recycling center nearest you.
